This spring, the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance launched consultations to develop a new Federal Tourism Growth Strategy to plot a course for growth, investment and stability for the tourism sector.

HAC’s hotel-specific strategy addresses current issues and provides recommendations to drive future growth for hotels. We are thankful for strong member participation in the development of HAC’s submission through focus groups, surveys and direct feedback.

As always, broader tourism sector alignment is critical to success. As you may know, HAC co-chairs the Coalition of Hardest Hit Businesses (CHHB) – a group of more than 120 business associations in the tourism space – with the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC). Together we developed an industry-wide submission which includes four pillars: Labour, Borders and Transportation, Investment and Building a Regenerative and Inclusive Tourism Sector.
