BEYOND THE LOBBY
Beyond the Lobby is an initiative that invites Members of Parliament behind the scenes of their local hotels to experience firsthand the people, operations, and investments that power Canada’s hotel sector.
Showcasing Hotels As Economic Drivers
CONNECTING POLICYMAKERS WITH CANADA’S HOTEL INDUSTRY
These visits are designed to connect policymakers directly with the realities of hotel operations and the important role hotels play in supporting local economies. That impact extends far beyond the guest experience: Canada’s hotel industry supports more than 320,000 jobs, contributes $32 billion annually to the Canadian economy, and serves as a critical component of Canada’s tourism infrastructure.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES
INSIDE HOTEL OPERATIONS
During a back-of-house tour, Members of Parliament have the opportunity to meet hotel team members, visit operational areas not typically open to guests, and learn about the many careers, investments, and business activities that make hotels successful.
The tours also provide an opportunity for meaningful dialogue about workforce development, housing, tourism growth, investment, and other issues affecting Canada’s hotel industry.
By opening your doors, you can help policymakers better understand the value of Canada’s hotel industry and the impact hotels have in communities across the country.
