HAC Testifies Before The Senate Committee On National Finance

Today, the Hotel Association of Canada was invited to testify before the Senate Committee on National Finance.  Susie Grynol, HAC President & CEO, asked the Government to devote priority and attention to the recovery of hard hit sectors, like hotels.

The broad-based sector agnostic approach has worked up until now, but will fail distressed sectors in the fall. Like the Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program that was announced this winter, we will need a highly affected wage and fixed costs relief program to survive the second year of COVID. HAC called for a tailored approach to deal with distressed sectors, like hotels, that will have a protracted period before true recovery.
