Alana Baker appears before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance
The Hotel Association of Canada was once again invited to testify before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.
HAC Vice President of Policy & Public Affairs, Alana Baker, reminded the #FINA Committee that Canada’s hotel sector needs a clear signal in the Budget that the Government acknowledges our unique challenges and will stand behind us until recovery is possible.
Specifically, HAC brought forward two critical asks for consideration in the Federal Budget:
- An extension and enhancement of CEWS at 75%, targeting hard hit industries until the end of 2021; and
- An extension and enhancement of the CERS program for hard hit businesses, including deeper support for medium-sized businesses.
A commitment in the Budget would give our sector the confidence they need to remain intact and maintain employment.
